Strawberry Pie

Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

Add sugar to shopping list 1-1/4 cup sugar

Add cornstarch to shopping list 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Add water to shopping list 1 cup water

Add (3 oz.) strawberry gelatin to shopping list 1 package (3 oz.) strawberry gelatin

Add lemon juice to shopping list 3 tablespoons lemon juice

Add fresh strawberries, halved to shopping list 1 quart fresh strawberries, halved

Add (9 inch) pastry shell, baked to shopping list 1 (9 inch) pastry shell, baked

Add whipped topping (optional) to shopping list whipped topping (optional)

Directions:

In a saucepan, combine the sugar and cornstarch. Stir in water until smooth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add the gelatin and lemon juice; stir until dissolved. Allow to cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Add
strawberries and stir gently to coat. Spoon into pastry shell. Chill until set, about 3 hours. Serve with whipped topping if desired.
